 Ram

When the folks at Ram set out to design their latest pickup, they didn’t think a good pickup truck has to be so expensive. And to prove it, they built the 2014 Ram 1500 Tradesman/Express.

They tweaked the exterior with a few updates, gave it a Hemi V-8 engine and produced a magnificent, two-door, sporty pickup that was the least-expensive V-8-powered truck in America for 2014. The result was that the Express trim became massively popular with Ram customers.

Despite its lower cost, it looks fantastic with body-colored bumpers front and back, blacked-out trim, fog lamps and big 20-inch painted wheels that certainly rebuff the ‘stripped-down’ supposition.

That being said, the best part about the Express is what’s under the hood — a 395-horsepower, 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine combined with a six-speed automatic transmission. It also pumps out 410 pounds-feet of torque. The six-speed automatic shifts with clout, the broad steering wheel is firm and inspires driving confidence. All that power in the smallest, lightest pickup in the Ram line-up means the truck can really move when you need it to. It also helps the brakes bring the truck to a stop with considerable force.

Being a pickup, the 1500 Express tows and hauls easily, especially with the big, forceful V-8. The truck is rated to tow 9,250 pounds thanks to the 3.92 gear, which is more than enough to haul a boat, a pair of motorcycles, a camper trailer, even an automobile. But cargo capability is most likely what you’re looking for, and there's a full-size 6-foot-4-inch bed behind the cabin that can accommodate pretty much anything. Payload is rated at 1,620 pounds.

Hopping into the very nicely arranged cab, you'll swing onto on a big bench seat which seats three across with the option of folding down the center position for an armrest, cup-holder and storage bin. The driver and passenger seats are comfortable and can be customized to match your exterior paint with after-market coverings. When you’re on the road, there's no bouncing around and no unusual chassis movements, you’ll find a steady, comfortable ride for three people. It's quiet, keeping you and your occupants very nicely insulated against outside clamor and road noise.

The latest Ram pickup interiors are the best in Chrysler history; even in this entry-level model, material and assembly quality is excellent. There's a standard trip computer in the gauge cluster, which itself is clear and easy to read, there’s a media hub containing an aux jack, USB port and a 12-volt auxiliary power outlet accessible in the fold-down console. Satellite radio is present in an option package and 2014 did offer an interesting array of options for customization. Come in to Kelly Risk Free to discover what kind of options packages we have in our Ram used inventory.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration tested The 2014 Ram 1500 and gave it a mixture of four and five stars throughout the various crash tests. You’ll find front- and side-impact airbags and stability control.

 Jeep Liberty

The Jeep Liberty line up was extensively updated for 2001 and then again in 2005. Seats were made more comfortable and the exterior was given a more contemporary appearance. For 2006, all Liberty models came with Jeep's Electronic Stability Program (ESP), anti-lock brakes (ABS), Electronic Roll Mitigation, and all-speed traction control.

Tougher and more trail-worthy than most compact SUVs, the Jeep Liberty offered a worthy compromise between road merit and off-highway proficiency. For daily use, a Liberty behaves like a passenger car or wagon. It seats four people comfortably and can easily accommodate up to five and their gear. Fold the rear seats down and it can transport two people with masses of cargo.

Off the pavement with the Liberty you’ll find this sweet vehicle can negotiate unpaved roads and trails with confidence. It is a Jeep after all; Liberty offers superior off-road capability that definitely sets it apart from the herd of compact SUVs and Crossovers.

The Liberty is among the best of the small sport-utilities for drivers who want serious off-road capability on the weekend yet need practicality and affordability during the week.

As mentioned, the Liberty offers a substantial amount of cargo space behind the rear seats, pretty much unmatched it the class. Grocery-bag hooks and cargo tie-downs are provided to keep things from moving around. An optional cargo organizer was provided on some vehicles that opens into a shelf with compartment dividers to keep packages in place, and can be folded flat when not in use. Check to see what options we have in stock!

Sitting in the Liberty gives you a sense of roominess with 40.7 inches of headroom, more than other SUVs in this class.

The seats were conspicuously improved for 2005 through the use of dual-density foam with soft side bolsters, a signal that the Liberty is set up for off-roading with a focus on absorbing vibration.

A neat feature on all models: pulling hard on the outside handle of the rear cargo door triggers the glass hatch to swing up as the door itself is swinging out, which saves time and effort; use less force and only the glass hatch opens. Also, the door is hinged on the left and swings open from the right, better for handling pickups and loading gear and equipment from the curbside or campsite. A lot of imported vehicles swing the other way, meaning you have to walk around the door when loading and unloading.

Model Lineup

Jeep Liberty Sport 2WD; Renegade 2WD Limited 2WD; Sport 4WD; Renegade 4WD; Limited 4WD

The mid-range Renegade looked tougher, with its flatter hood, taller grille, off-road fog-lamps and tail lamp guards. Renegade also came with functional rock rails and skid plates. All-terrain tires were optional, as was GPS navigation and an overhead light bar.

The economy-priced Sport and luxury-grade Limited models are as capable as the Renegade, and offered an option the Renegade did not: the only diesel engine available in a compact or mid-size SUV. Liberty's 2.8-liter turbo-diesel uses advanced common-rail technology for low emissions, maximum economy, and performance.

The Liberty's body is tall, providing the driver with an authoritative view of the terrain ahead. In its exterior dimensions, sizewise, the Liberty fits between the Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee. With an overall length of 174.4 inches, the Jeep Liberty is slightly longer than the Ford Escape.

 Dodge Dart

The 2013 Dodge Dart is a front-wheel-drive small sedan based on an Italian hatchback; it starts with its basic structure, suspension and steering borrowed from the Alfa Romeo Giulietta sold in Europe.

With underpinnings sourced from the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, the 2013 Dodge Dart boasts the sort of lively, responsive handling you'd expect from something with an Italian birthright. The steering is well weighted, and the car does a nice job of driving about town, turns confidently while also offering the sort of comfortable ride that you might expect from a larger car.

The Dart is a tad wider than average for this class, which not only imparts more passenger space but also creates the feeling that you're driving something rather substantial. It really doesn't feel like a compact car; the Dart's bigger dimensions make it seem more sizeable and confident when cruising down the road.

The SXT is like the SE within the Value Group, but for 2013 it came equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, upgraded cloth upholstery, a 60/40-split-folding rear seat, a sliding front armrest, an upgraded instrument panel and a six-speaker sound system. The SXT Rallye package added to that with fog-lamps, exclusive exterior and interior trim and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls.

Every 2013 Dodge Dart comes standard with antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front and rear side airbags, side curtain airbags and front knee airbags. A rearview camera came as an option, as did blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic alert systems.

Every 2013 Dodge Dart (except the GT) comes standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 160 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard and a six-speed automatic transmission was optional.

In government crash testing, the Dart earned a top five-star overall rating, with five stars for total frontal impact protection and five stars for total side-impact protection. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety similarly awarded the Dart a top score of "Good" in frontal-offset, side-impact and roof-strength tests. In brake testing, the Dart came to a stop from 60 mph in 118 feet, putting it among the best in the segment.

The Dodge Dart presents one of the nicest cabins in its class. Each subsequent trim level added even nicer elements - the Dart actually fully develops the ascending trim levels with such touches as extra padding on surfaces, dash stitching and flourishes of colorful trim.

The music hub features easy-to-navigate menus, big touch buttons and an accompanying knob that makes skimming through external device menus quick and easy.

Come to Kelly Risk Free and check out our selection of appealing used Dodge Darts.

 Chrysler 200

The 2015 Chrysler 200 sedan was completely redesigned for 2015. Its strong engine, composed ride and handling, high-quality interior materials, attractive infotainment interface and available all-wheel drive are just some of the amazing features for this car.

The styling is striking for a car in this price range, and it is probably the most upgraded design exterior for the Chrysler brand that we’ve seen in a long time. The interior cabin has been refurbished as well and features high quality materials and a stylish new touchscreen electronic interface that's especially easy to use.

New safety features like blind-spot monitoring and forward collision warning systems put the 2015 Chrysler 200 on a advantageous footing with other more expensive leaders in this class. But there’s more, the structural and engine changes are even more transformative.

For 2015, the 200 implemented a marginally enlarged version of the platform architecture already used for the Dodge Dart and Jeep Cherokee. It's a more structurally rigid foundation than that used on previous models and it contributes to a quieter, more cultivated ride quality. You’ll be very impressed with the handling of the 200, superior in this class.

The 2015 Chrysler 200 sedan also received an upgraded 184-horsepower four-cylinder engine that presents outstanding performance for this class. The 2015 also gained the option of all-wheel drive on V6 models.

Standard features on the 2015 Limited include 17-inch steel alloy wheels, upgraded exterior trim, keyless ignition and entry, air-conditioning, cruise control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, manually height-adjustable front seats, a 60/40-split-folding rear seat and a six-speaker sound system with USB/iPod integration and an auxiliary audio input. There were several options packages included at the Limited trim level, check with your sales professional at Kelly Risk Free to see what options are included in our always changing used inventory.

The EPA's fuel-economy estimates for the 2015 Chrysler 200 range from 28 mpg combined (23 city/36 highway) for the base engine to 23 mpg combined (19/32) for the V6 and 22/18/29 for the AWD V6. Our highway-biased evaluation loop produced an impressive 34-mpg average for the four-cylinder and 28 mpg for the AWD V6, essentially validating the EPA's findings that are often difficult to reproduce in the real world.

The 2015 Chrysler 200 came in four trim levels: LX, Limited, S and C. We’re always available to you to discuss what you would like to see in your new used Chrysler 200.
