Microfiber cloth is made up of soft synthetic fibers with the ability to wipe off dust from any surface without using chemicals. It means you can now forget all about detergents and easily clean all the dirt off your car with only a microfiber cloth and some water. This will keep the shine and glossy look of your car intact for longer as you will not be using chemicals regularly. The cloth not only goes easy on your car but also rinses water off easily. Here is a little guide on using microfiber cloth to give a chemical-free bath to your 2015 Nissan Rogue.

Things you need

You only need to invest once on an easily available microfiber cloth set, a water pipe or bucket to draw water from.

If you have a large compound, you can easily use a water pipe to hose off most of the dust and dirt off your car, but if you are cleaning your vehicle in a car park or small compound, you will only need a small bucket of water to do the job since microfiber clothes do not require much water to remove dust.

Always apply water from the bottom of the vehicle and then work your way up. It will avoid streaks of water from forming on the surface.

Soak your microfiber cloth in plain water and wash a quarter of the surface first. Scrub off the dirt from your car before you move towards the wheels. If you clean your wheels first, chances of the microfiber picking up debris from the wheel and scratching the rest of your car with these rough particles, will increase.

Don't rub the surface with too much force. If some spots do not come off easy at first attempt, let them be and clean the rest of the car. Return back to them after the rest is done. Once you work off all the dirty spots, wipe your car with another clean wet microfiber cloth.

Use a dry microfiber cloth to remove excess moisture from the surface. You will notice that with just a microfiber cloth and little water, you have achieved a more polished and shiny finish without even spelling ôdetergent.

Things to remember

  • Don't wash your microfiber with bleach or any other fabric softener.
  • Use several clothes if you have a large vehicle.
  • The piece of cloth to be used at the end must be fully dry and clean.

Nissan Pathfinder

The most common issue with four wheel drives is overheating. Criss-crossing grueling turfs, heavy non-factory equipments and increased pressure from larger tires are all major factors for turning up the heat of your jeep. Apart from destructing your engine, overheating also causes irreparable damage to the rings, pistons and bearings of the vehicles. Here are the reasons you need to know which might be the culprits behind overheating of your 2015 Nissan Pathfinder.

Run Down the Culprits

Blocking your front-end of your jeep by large non-factory equipments is a bad idea. It hinders the airflow to your radiator. This will not only have adverse affect on your engine by overheating it but also reduce the performance of air-conditioning and transmission coolers.

Your engine also boils over if electric fan stops working. It usually quits working when its motor is burnt due to some electric shot. In case of mechanical fans, they become faulty when there is a problem with the clutch. Repairing the defected fans on time is necessary to avoid overheating. Cracked or missing panel on your fan shroud can also be the cause of trouble. The air should be properly channelized through a fan shroud to reduce the chances of overheating. Mount in additional pusher fans in front of radiator to curb the heat.

A damaged or choked radiator also plays havoc with the heating. Keep your radiator mud free. Also try to replace your plastic-capped radiators with aluminum radiators as they are more durable and light-weight (up to 15 pounds lighter).

High-temperature thermostats are known for being failure points on high mileage engines and increase the overheating woes. It's recommended to use low-temperature thermostats for your modern engines.

Deteriorated plugs also contribute a lot to the problem. Plugs usually fail due to leaks that are often hard to trace because fluids tend to evaporate quickly. Check your plugs regularly and make sure you clean out your water jackets, reducing the chance of grease to accumulate inside them.

Always purchase oil coolers with an electric fan assembly attached to it. It will not obstruct the path of cool air from making its way to your radiator. Swap in a high-flow pump to increase the efficiency of the cooling system.

Hood louvers are well-known for aiding in reducing under hood temperatures. Both bigger and smaller sets of louvers perform equally well with all jeeps. Ditch out any extra fender walls: it will provide path for air to escape.

A blasted head gasket can't be ruled out from the equation. You can easily detect a blown out gasket by the white smokes blowing out from the exhaust.

If you live in Easton and worried by your overheated engine of 2015 Nissan Pathfinder, get it fixed in no time at Kelly Car & Kelly Risk Free.

2014-Nissan-Maxima

Nissan Maxima

Winters are here: the season when your vehicles turn into grumpy and complaining housewives. They demand your constant attention with their colorful tantrums: from dead battery to frozen fluids, jammed wipers to under-inflated tires and the classic one being: Iced windshields. Waking up each morning and starting your day's job with de-icing your windshield isn't very appealing to the majority of us. Show a little impatience with this job and you end up damaging your vehicle with your own hands. Here are some easy preventive and reactive measures to make your de-icing job a little less frosty.

Proactive Measures

Make your own ice-preventing formula at home with 3 parts vinegar and 1 part water. Apply it sparingly on your defrosted windshields. Don't spray the solution over metal as it will cause the metal to rust.

  • Soak a towel in salt water solution. Take it out and squeeze excess water so it doesn't drip and secure it over the windshield with placing your wipers over it.
  • Save our wiper lines from freezing by pouring rubbing alcohol into your windshield reservoir.
  • Park your cars in garage when not in used. Keep your car covered under a tarp.

Reactive Measures

Locate or buy ice scrapers before the chills sets in. They are easily available at every retail store and undeniably the most commonly used tool to de-ice your windshield. Invest in a good plastic ice-scraper with a firm grip handle. Never use a metal tool to scrap the ice off your windshield as it may lead to scratches and cut the glass.

Before you take your car out of your car park, start your car and let it stay idle to get warm up. Put on the defrost setting on the temperature gauge. Keep the temperature midway - very hot air can cause cracking.

If the temperature is not very severe, use a hot dampened towel to defrost the windshield.

Mix 5 tablespoon salt in water and make a salt solution. Use this solution sparingly over your windshield; the chemical reaction will dissolve the ice within a minute. Instead of using normal table salt, use road salt because it melts ice more quickly than the normal salt.

An alcohol and water solution will also work just as well as the salt solution. Mix 2 parts of alcohol with one part of water and keep it in a spray bottle for use. Unlike salt solution, it can be sprayed liberally without risking harm to your car. Keep a soft-bristled brush handy to scrub away the residue left behind by the solutions.

If you live in Bethlehem, PA, take your road queen, the 2015 Nissan Maxima, to Kelly Car & Kelly Risk Free and treat it to a royal winter treatment.

2015-Chrysler-200-AWD

Chrysler 200

To those who think buying used cars is an easy feat, here's a reality check: it's not. If you are not too careful in buying beauties such as a 2015 Chrysler 200, preowned and preloved, you may end up at not a licensed dealer but an illegal one, a curbstoner.

According to National Automobile Dealers Association, curbstoning is a "fraudulent and potentially dangerous practice [wherein] repeated buying and selling of vehicles for profit by a person posing as a private seller who does not have a dealer license" is rampant.

The person may have advertised it in the newspaper section or you may have come across them selling cars on the street. Referred either way, dealing with them will not only mean you are involved in an illegal trade but you might well end up with a defective or severely damaged car; it may even be stolen for all you know. As if these risks weren't enough to put up with, you are unable to transfer a title.

Be Wary If

  • They are adamant on being paid in cash.
  • They describe it a personal vehicle despite claims to be a dealer.
  • They provide you with a cell phone number or a pager only. Usually this number is also listed for a number of cars advertised in the newspaper.
  • They prefer meeting you elsewhere rather than at their residential address.
  • They do not show you the title, it might not be in their name, and/or it will be recently issued to them.
  • The license plates are temporarily issued, are for out-of-state vehicle, carry dealer tags, or, like the title, omitted altogether.
  • They offer to complete the necessary paperwork for title and tag.
  • You came across the vehicles in vacant lots, by the roadside, in driveways, or at shopping centers.

Questions to Ask a Potential Curbstoner

To begin with, you should be familiar with basic legal knowledge that applies to anyone in this business. This includes that they should have a license; should have a physical location for the business and maintain all their deals at the said location; hire licensed sales staff only; and a guarantee clear titles for the vehicles.

Given all that, it is still helpful if you inquire the following from the seller.

  • Whether they are in fact the dealer (the owner or co-owner with the former's permission)
  • Whether you can see their license - and verify the make, model, vehicle identification number, year as well as the names with the one on title
  • Whether they bought it new and the period that they have owned it for
  • Whether there are receipts to show it has been taken care of, including body repairs or any other major/minor work been performed on it; checking up on service and warranty records is a plus
  • Whether you can have it inspected and test drive it

GMC Sierra

Are you or a loved one thinking to go hunting this season? It was a reason you bought a used 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 in the first place. The lure of the forests and country fields, to travel nonstop and to maintain a vehicle such that it can be your home away from home, right? But are you sure you will have a hassle-free experience? Here is a checklist to ensure.

Clean It

So you may not be obsessed with keeping things organized, but hunting requires you have a clear gear and easy access to everything you want. Wash it thoroughly; vacuum the junk inside - the stray wrappers and the grease all have to go now. As dumb as it appears to be doing so when you are going into the wild and therefore likely to have it in a messy condition again, preparation thus will at least keep the clutter to a minimum. Besides, the fewer the extra stuff (e.g. jacket, cooler), the better its efficiency.

Get It Serviced

This is for sake of its functionality and protection during the trek. Oil change, checking every fluid, having the fuel filter replaced, checking the tires, and all the routine work will guarantee your GMC Sierra 1500 is ready for the game. And since you wouldn't want to bring home all the foliage and dirt, shop for seat custom-fit, tear-resistant and water-resistant covers - kudos if there are pockets to them, which will facilitate your organization - and floor liners.

Accessories

For everything else that you have to carry including shotguns and your tool kit, do purchase a car organizer. With the various solutions now available, including ones to fit in your truck bed and under your seats, such compartmentalization will keep the equipment safe and secure.

You may also want to consider upgrading your truck. This includes a set of tires to suit the occasion. You don't want to be stuck therein with a flat tire now, do you? Further, grille guards will protects its front in case there of a harsh impact. Another, off-road lights are necessary when you want to adjust to the different environments.

Last but not the least are the back racks and Tonneau covers to give you no reason to be there and miss a day. It's not to suggest that your truck bed will be any less rigid or hard, but you don't want any external element affecting it. Protect that gear and protect the bed too from accidental damage attributed not just to road conditions and extreme weather but also theft. Choose one according to your style and you would not complain of it ruining your truck's look either.

2014 GMC Sierra 1500 is a good option to make the most of your hunting trip and other deep country fun activities. For more tips and advice, visit our blog. Visit Kelly Risk Free dealership in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, or Emmaus to check out the inventory.
