Used Nissan Pathfinders

Used Nissan Pathfinder

The Nissan Pathfinder is one of the most popular vehicles of its time. It's built for anything you can think of, from cruising around Allentown or Bethlehem to the most challenging of off-road terrain. It can carry six to seven people and their luggage for either a long road trip or camping out in the middle of the Allegheny National Forest.

This car was the source of many fond memories for me, but only because I took such good care of it. I maintain a maintenance calendar with all of the areas of the vehicle, from cooling systems to engine, from transmission to suspension. I record when I install a part, its make and approximate lifespan, and when I would need to replace it and follow the calendar to the letter. To this day the engine purrs like a kitten.

Here are a few general tips for fellow pathfinders, tips I"ve learned over the years that have kept this vehicle as good as new.

  1. Follow the instructions - In order to extend your car's life and save cash in the long run, follow the engine maintenance recommendations in the manual. Don't deceive yourself into believing that by skipping the upkeep you will still have an efficiently running vehicle for very long. If you buy time, remember you will probably buy more parts in the future.
  2. Clean and shine - Give a hard scrubbing to the exterior. Show the interior some love too, by vacuuming, detailing, and shampooing the upholstery and carpet. Regular wash and wax not only preserves the paint it also prevents rust from getting a foothold.
  3. Prepare for seasons - Whether it's winter, summer, or anything in between, changing seasons means your car needs to be prepped accordingly. For most cars winters and summers are more demanding on car batteries, tires and coolant, among other parts. Paying attention to these critical points could make all the difference between getting stranded and getting there. If it snows, even moderately, and you can afford the extra cost, get winter tires for extra control and traction.
  4. Electronics - Even if the car is a couple of years old, its sound system will be out of date. Trade your old radio for one that can integrate with an iPod and has Bluetooth connection for receiving calls. Minor changes like these will shoot your car out of the past and into the present.

2013 Acura TL

Used Acura TL

I have always been a loyal Acura owner, and always seemed to struggle in finding the quality car that had reliability and features I"m used to. Always looking for a change, I drove every vehicle out there Lexus, Infinity, Toyota, Mazda, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Nissan, Subaru, and Kia. None of these cars were able to grab my attention. They were good nonetheless, but none had the balance I was looking for.

The last car I came across, my used Acura TL, was at a dealership namely "Kelly Risk Free",. Initially, I was put off when I looked at the front grill. The previous generation TL’s were far more attractive than this generation. The design got me thinking. Was this modern? But I was very happy that I found the balance I was looking for, the features, mileage, overall looks, and maintenance costs.

After several months of owning this car, I am happy to share that many people have come up to me at shopping plazas and gas stations to inquire about my car and remarked how beautiful it is.

My Acura is almost 1 year old now and still a head turner, like it's brand new. The styling is amazing now that I"ve grown accustomed to it. The interior has an elegant cockpit like design that is well presented with many latest features one can expect in an Acura. The sheer number of buttons may seem overwhelming at first but will seem simple once you figure out what does what. Engine is quiet and powerful(V6), a sporty suspension and steering is really responsive and smooth. As far as maintenance is concerned, this car is a problem free one. All I had to repair so far is my air conditioning other than scheduled tires and oil changes. The breaks are in perfect working order and still seem to have a decent life on them. This vehicle has exceeded my expectations of an Acura car and I plan to keep it for years to come. I"m glad I walked into "Kelly Risk Free" in Allentown, Pennsylvania and found the perfect car.

MINI-Cooper

MINI Cooper

It was the winter of 2013 and I was about to graduate from my local high school. I was in the planning phase to move out of the house, having applied in various colleges and waiting for a reply. My mom was really broken down about it, my dad didn't seem to care, and my little sister kept making me beaded jewelry. I was very excited about my whole situation, about to step out into the world and make my way in life.

The day of my graduation ceremony finally arrived, everyone got ready and we were on our way. After a long and very eventful day, filled with old friends, smiles, and a hell of a lot of pictures I was finally on my way home. My father had left early due to some emergency and I was pretty bummed out about it. To my surprise when I got home my dad was standing there with a big smile on his face. I asked him what his deal was and he asked me to turn around. As I did, parked right across the street from our house was a blue Mini Cooper! My heart raced and I asked him if it was a joke. He tossed me the keys and said, "I"m proud of you son". I was so happy that I almost cried. I had only mentioned how much I loved this car once, when our family had sat down to watch the movie "Italian Job". The fact that my dad remembered felt great.

First thing I did was walk around my new car 10 times admiring how beautiful, sleek and sporty it looked. The awesome rims, convertible roof, and the LED light blew me away. I was savoring the moment before climbing in behind the wheel. When I finally did, it blew me away. The cockpit like interior was very spacious and had all the high-end features one could hope for like a DVD player, satellite radio, GPS and a complete set of sensors.

I finally started the car; the engine came alive with a roar and quieted downed almost immediately. I pulled out of the driveway and cruised around the neighborhood. It was the most amazing day of my life. My father later mentioned that he had purchased it from a dealership nearby that gave him the best deal, in our hometown Bethlehem Pennsylvania. Thank you Kelly Risk Free in for making it easier for my father.

Toyota Corolla

Used Toyota Corolla

These blog posts are from guest authors who bought cars from us and wanted to share their stories.

As a child I was really into cars. I used to draw cars, collect to scale toy cars, and read everything about cars. As my 16th birthday approached, once again cars were all I could thing about as couple of my friends already owned one. Every Sunday I would go through the ads in the Sunday newspaper, circling cars that I may be able to afford. My parents reaction was always the same, they would smile and say ôwe will see or something of the sort. Then out of nowhere a lecture would come at me, about costs, responsibility and getting a job to maintain it. But there was something fishy about their smiles but I couldn't figure out what.

When my 16th birthday finally arrived, it was a Sunday. I jumped out of bed expecting great things. After breakfast my parents told me that we would be going out for a big birthday lunch to a place of my choice and then we would do ôsomething fun afterwards. At about 12:30 that afternoon our family piled into our family car and went to my favorite place that made the best ribs in town. My little sisters gave me birthday cards there, with cute little inscriptions. I noticed the presents were nowhere to be seen.

After lunch we were back in the car and driving in an unfamiliar direction. After 15 minutes impatience finally got the best of me. I asked where we were going, dad just smiled at mom and said ôyou'll see. Hell yeah! I thought, I am getting a car today.

After a while we pulled into Kelly Risk Free dealership which was popular for its quality cars. I was like ô Really dad? Really?! he said, ôYes son, we"ve already picked one out for you. I was so excited, all I could think about which car I was about to get. As we opened the door to the dealership, a friendly sales person approached us and asked us to follow him out back.

I could barely contain myself. I ran towards the back door, almost tackled the salesman, and burst through the door to see a 1995 Toyota Corolla. That moment was awesome. There it was wrapped in ribbon, my very own car. Metallic silver in color, custom rims, and bumpers, subtle spoilers, HID lights, and leather seats, I couldn't ask for more. It was evident that the previous owner of the car had style. I was expecting a much cooler car model but I fell for the car instantly. The modifications on this car made all the difference.

Later I found out that the sales representative Kelly Risk Free had been accommodating and really cut a fabulous deal that made it affordable to my father. We had to drive all the way to Allentown in Emmaus, Pennsylvania but it was totally worth it!

Used Chrysler Sebring

These blog posts are from guest authors who bought cars from us and wanted to share their stories.

I reckon most people remember the first car they owned quite fondly. In my case, I remember the make and model which was a used Chrysler Sebring LX. I remember how the steering wheel felt in my hands, the comfortable seats, the scent of the car, and most importantly the friends that rode with me. Apart from all the memories, my car was the first significant thing I was responsible for and from which I learned a number of things:

Being responsible

When the fact that I finally own a car sank in, I realized that other than all the fun I could have in my own transportation, I had to maintain the car as well. I was not only responsible for my own safety, but also for the passengers, the pedestrians, other vehicles on the road. My first car taught me to be mindful and vigilant about my surroundings making the safety of everyone on the road my priority when driving.

Creating a Budget

Fuel and maintenance are quite costly; I had to get a part time job to pay for it. This financial obligation motivated me to put in few extra hours to modify my car a little and pay fuel for long road The valuable lesson I learned about money management, aided me in getting the most out of my earnings and enjoy a better quality of life throughout my high school and college years.

Relying on myself

Getting from one place to another is simple when you are in the passenger seat, but when you are in the driver's seat you are in charge. From changing a busted tire on the side of the road, to learning how to change oil simple tasks like these build self reliance. The ability to handle oneself in any situation is an important part of becoming an adult after all.

Welfare for others

You position instantly switches from being the one in need to the one that can help. You can offer your friends a ride, jump start a vehicle in the parking lot, help friends and family in case of an emergency and a lot more. In other words, my first car taught me how to be more giving.

Hats off to Kelly Risk Free dealership in Bethlehem Emmaus, Pennsylvania, for providing a car that doesn't require a lot of maintenance despite being used. It really helped me save up for things I really wanted to do.
